Macbett (Eugène Ionesco), 2013

Written in 1972, Ionesco’s satire on Shakespeare’s play loosely follows the plot (adding some characters and twists to the story), but offers no ray of hope in a world in which “les meilleurs sont pires que les mauvais”. Comic effects are nevertheless abundant throughout the play.
